Our Child Development Center (CDC)
The Lynnhaven Colony Child Development Center is fully licensed with the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Center offers a safe, nurturing environment, fun-filled learning experiences and well-planned social interaction to the children in its care. Our program is rooted in principles of openness and tolerance and the ecumenical spirit of Christian love.
The Center is open throughout the year to children ages 6 weeks to six years. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 6 pm. We limit closings to a few major holidays and “for real” heavy weather days. We encourage parents to visit at any time to see our children and staff in action.
Our dedicated staff of fourteen promises to treat each child with professionalism, love and fairness. We will do everything in our power to promote the well being, uniqueness of character, and beauty of spirit of each child.
We offer a complete program of language arts development, musical activities, pre-reading skills, introductory mathematical and scientific concept skills, motor skills development and imaginative play. We respect each child’s need for play in the development of a healthy body and mind and in the encouragement of self-esteem and social maturity. Extra learning activities include: computer classes, dance classes, the Tumblebus and the Abrakadoodle art class.
